Wireless Audio Equipment
Audio is a very significant aspect of any wedding video. Having access to wireless audio equipment is important for events such as reception toasts, personal performances, singing, and of course your actual wedding ceremony.
When videographers move around while filming they will generally stop recording as they move and start recording again once they are set in their new location. Moving around is important for the videographer to get the best shot possible as well as giving the viewer different viewing angles. The side effect of this however, is that you lose all audio while the camera is not recording. Even if the videographer left the camera on while moving it would create a distorted recording of the sound as you would here the audio differently as the camera moved from one location to another. The best way to avoid this and capture a perfect recording of all important audio, is to have a wireless microphone system.
You can use a wireless microphone with only one camera however, it is recommended that if you are going to be using a wireless microphone system to record a wedding ceremony, you should use a second camera. The second camera will be stationary throughout the ceremony and will remain on the entire time, ensuring that all audio is recorded. The other camera will be moving about capturing up close and different angled shots.
Professional wireless audio equipment is very expensive but well worth it, especially for those living within city limits. Interference can be created by a variety of things which could ruin your audio recording. Talk to your videographer to find out what kind of equipment they will be using - and that they know how to use it!
